臺北市藝文推廣處表示，首演於大稻埕戲苑青年戲曲藝術節的創新節目《1399趙氏孤兒》將於本週末(5/4-5/5)於大稻埕戲苑重磅回歸，編導李季紋巧妙以戲中戲結構翻轉經典，4名演員在緊湊的劇情中，詮釋13個迥然不同的精彩角色，製作團隊重新製景，並備有中英字幕。購票請洽兩廳院售票系統或大稻埕戲苑(02-25569101)。

臺北市藝文處指出，宮鬥劇永遠是熱門的題材，無論在電視劇或現實世界都不斷的上演。電視劇中后妃爭寵，時常魚死網破；歷史上皇子相鬥，甚至骨肉相殘，株連上萬人，更是慘烈。去年在大稻埕青年戲曲藝術節一鳴驚人的歷史劇《1399趙氏孤兒》，以明朝的宮鬥為背景，講述朱元璋之子朱棣綁架親弟弟朱權，逼其共同反叛姪兒建文帝，發動政變「靖難之役」的故事。以伶人視角，冷看朝廷內兄弟、叔姪相爭，編導李季紋巧妙穿插戲中戲《趙氏孤兒》，探討「忠誠」的當代價值與意義。

本劇網羅了薪傳歌仔戲劇團當家小生江亭瑩；金枝演社台柱施冬麟；歌仔戲文武老生劉冠良；跨界戲曲小生許麗坤同台演出。4名演員在緊湊的劇情中，詮釋13個迥然不同的精彩角色。於本屆青藝節再獲邀演，將於5/4~5/5在大稻埕戲苑重現舞台。除了演員們更為精進的演技與唱腔外，此次製作團隊重新製景，並備有中英字幕。購票請洽兩廳院售票系統或大稻埕戲苑。

THE ORPHAN IN 1399 takes revenge in Dadaocheng Theater
Last year’s best Taiwanese opera THE ORPHAN IN 1399 returns to its premiere stage with all-star cast and English subtitle.

Based on the revenge story THE ORPHAN OF ZHAO, Taiwanese playwright and director Lee Ji-Wen’s THE ORPHAN IN 1399 set the classical historical play on the stage of the civil war period (1399-1402 ) in Ming Dynasty. Prince of Ning ( Zhu Quan ) was kidnaped by his brother Prince of Yan ( Zhu Di, who became Yongle Emperor later) and was forced to betray his nephew Jianwen Emperor, or he and his family would all die. To join or not to join, that’s a big question. Three players from Prince of Ning’s theatre troupe came to the Forbidden City, and performed THE ORPHAN OF ZHAO with their lord, doing their best to save their lives!

All 13 characters are played by only 4 actors. This must-see masterpiece recreates the rare and splendid stage performance of Yuan Zaju. It will hit Taipei on May 4th and May 5th in Dadaocheng Theater.
