圖:Good Morning Your Excellency Mr. Cheng, Vice-Premier of Taiwan, Your Excellency Mrs. Wang, Minister of Economic Affairs, distinguished representatives from the Executive Yuan, the Ministries, the Kaohsiung City Government, eminent guests, ladies and gentlemen WOW. What a majestic installation vessel the Green Jade is. For me, it is the first time I have seen her in real life with the spacious deck and I am really overwhelmed. What a sturdy piece of work emerged from a collaboration between CSBC Corporation, Taiwan, and the DEME Group from Belgium. DEME is very proud to partner with CSBC on this prestigious project and to support the Taiwanese government in achieving its target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. As Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEME it gives me great pleasure to join all of you this morning on the occasion of one of the most exciting maritime rituals, the christening ceremony of this exceptional Green Jade. Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time. We all agree on that. Taiwan, too, is on a mission to become sustainable. With her government, president Tsai Ing-wen has set an ambitious goal of achieving climate neutrality within several decades. An objective DEME wholeheartedly support. This ceremony is a marvellous step towards achieving that goal. And in this context, I naturally thank our godmother Ms Wang for her willingness to perform the christening ceremony of this world’s second largest installation vessel. The Green Jade is the first Taiwan-built offshore wind installation vessel operating under Taiwanese flag with Kaohsiung as home port. CDWE is looking forward to an efficient cooperation with the city council and port authorities of Kaohsiung, represented here today by Major Chen Chi-Mai.
